Annapurna Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth through education, ensuring food security, and promoting environmental sustainability in Nepal. Rooted in the symbolic essence of Annapurna, the goddess of abundance and nourishment, our mission is to create sustainable, equitable, and resilient food systems that empower communities and protect the environment.
The Annapurna Foundation was born from a journey of discovery and purpose. In 2019, our founder, Paribesh Pradhan, embarked on a transformative trek across Nepal’s Great Himalaya Trail, spending a month in and around the Everest region. There, he witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by youth in accessing quality education, particularly in remote communities. Moved by their resilience and potential, Paribesh launched the Trek4Education fundraising campaign to support educational opportunities. As the campaign grew, so did the vision for a sustainable, systemic approach to empowerment—leading to the establishment of the Annapurna Foundation. Today, we carry forward that vision, working to empower youth, strengthen communities, and build a sustainable future for Nepal.
A sustainable and thriving Nepal where young leaders drive environmental protection, food security, and good governance for a better future.
Annapurna Foundation empowers Nepal’s youth to tackle climate, food, and governance challenges through education, advocacy, and community action, ensuring lasting impact and positive change.
